About the sculpture Sea Watches Back:

This new sculpture symbolizes the sea and is made of clay, glazes and sand.
The prints you find on the sculpture are made with shells and remains of marine life that I have found on beaches all over the world. Some prints are recognizable as shells, others require a closer look to understand their origin. And here and there I have used fine sand, which I brought from the coast of Bangladesh.
Because I have lived on four continents, I have been able to see how people live with the sea in different countries. According to this experience, people from all continents should connect to protect the fragile marine life and our own life on land, now that sea levels are rising faster than predicted.
