Petra participates in the exposition Art in the Church (Kunst in de Kerk), which is part of the Cultural Summer of Wageningen. The fourth edition of the Wageningen Culture Summer has started! In the month of August there are many cultural activities in the city. The Culture Summer starts this week with Art in the Church and outdoor films in the Torckpark.
Art in the Church
On the market days in August on Wednesdays and Saturdays, there are works of art by well-known artists in the large church on the Markt. Surprising art in a beautiful setting.
These are the participating artists; August 5: Birgit Pedersen, Frida Stad, Gelske K wrap, Mary Webster, Sonja Kemp, Petra de Vree. August 9 and 12: Ans Wouters, Jacqueline van Bergeijk, Marieke Scheijgrond, Mascha Bossuyt, Salman Ezzammoury. August 16 and 19: Colette Bloos, Erik Groen, Frouwien Soenveld, Remco de Kluizenaar, Trijnie Goudriaan. 23 and 26 August: Betty van Gelder, Coenraad de Jong, Dianne Ploemen, Fransje Smit, Henk van Ruitenbeek, Petra Sips, Thea Vos.
Onder het Maaiveld
On Saturday 5 August, the film ‘Onder het maaiveld’ can be seen outside in the Torckpark . The film tells the story and the development of a group of townspeople who set to work on a small piece of land, just outside the big city, to realize a dream. Working in the garden, they only catch a glimpse of this hidden world. It is still difficult to fully penetrate it. As you sit with your hands in the ground you come to new insights and with the smell of fresh earth in your nose you begin to realize that there may be even more garden under your feet than above. In fact, without that teeming life below ground level, life above ground would not exist at all.
