Into the Light

Into the Light is part of the series FOCUS ON THE LOTUS. This series is inspired by the lotus, the national flower of Vietnam. Examples of art works based on its flower can be found everywhere in the country, and Vietnamese Airlines together with many other companies uses the flower in their logo.

Instead of the flower, Petra focused on other parts of the stunning plant. She used interesting shapes created by nature and reshaped them into a woman’s body in order to express our direct relationship with nature and earth. All the sculptures are created on top of the shape of the lotus leaf.
Into the Light is the first sculpture of this series.
