Exhibition: Space In Between

Three artist from three different continents exhibit their most recent works in the exposition with the title Space in Between.  Avelina Crespo from Ecuador, Đình Thị Thắm Poong from Vietnam and Petra de Vree from the Netherlands join forces to make this interesting show happening.

The theme of Space In Between plays an important role in the work of all three artists. In Avelina’s photographs, the space between the parts is just as important as the whole itself. In the series Treasures of Earth, Petra creates space between the sculptures because this refers to the source of inspiration Ha Long Bay, and it has an indispensable influence on the relationship between the sculptures. In Poong’s work, matter is given a view through where new spaces seem to arise outside and within the images in her work.

Since all three artists come from different continents, they have reduced the space between them in order to do this exhibition together in Hanoi.

The exhibition can be visited from 29 November to 3 December 2019. There will be Artist Talks on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 December, all three artists will be present. Other information can be found on the invitation.

The opening of Space In Between is done by the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Vietnam Elsbeth Akkerman. The number of people visiting the vernissage exceeded expectations. Also the people who come to listen to the artists talk are very interested. During those talks each of the three artists explaines the background of their work with photos and videos.

The three artists look back with satisfaction to the successful opening and exhibition.
