Course portrait sculpt
Discover how fascinating and inspiring it can be to explore the creative aspects of sculpting a portrait and capturing the character of the model. In small groups of 6 persons and a relaxing environment you get to know the base techniques and the coarse chamotte clay that we use for sculpting portraits.
By using pictures from different sides of the face, we analyse the portrait' s dimensions and expression. With my knowledge and experience as a teacher, I support the transformative process in which a hunk of clay turns into a characteristic image of a beloved person or an idol.
The image has to be hollowed out and needs to dry for a couple
of weeks before it can be baked.
The classes take place on Wednesday mornings from 9.00 to 12.00
am.
The total number of classes is 8.
Costs of the course is € 200, this includes material, use
of tools, baking the images and off course coffee or tea.
The next course will start on the 30th of March 2011.
Free design
Play with different shapes, discover new techniques and surprise yourself with your own creativity. In the first three of the twelve classes you work with different types of clay and develop skills as building with rolls, slices and free modelling.
In the following classes you continue your own ideas and my guidance
is individual. Depending on the chosen project we use glazes and
under-glazes. The group of participants consists of a maximum
of six persons.
Costs of the course is € 240, this includes coffee or tea,
material, use of tools, baking the work of a average size. Since
during this course everybody is free to choose his/her own technique
and size, extra material can be bought in my place. The extra
costs of baking will be passed on it.
The course takes place on Friday mornings from 9.00 to 11.30 am. The next course will start on the 8th of April 2011.
